This event will feature teams of professional investigators and amateur enthusiasts collaboratively conducting online searches for Missing Persons while sharpening their cyber skills. Refreshments and lunch will be provided! Individuals of all skill levels are encouraged to participate! A walkthough of how the CTF works, various tools and techniques participants can leverage, and mentorship support from members of the Security Compass team will be provided.   This event will provide: Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) training: to industry practitioners, search & rescue teams, and beginners with an interest in online investigation and/or information security Real World Impact: A scalable, cost-effective, and open source intelligence infrastructure that can provide timely and efficient online investigation for all missing persons. Friendly Competition: Teams will compete in the "CTF" to help find clues online that could further 8 ongoing Missing Persons investigations. Missing Persons Awareness: Speakers will share their experience and discuss the benefits of acting quickly in response to situations where people have gone missing. Guest speakers: Lusia Dion, Founder of missingadults.ca, a website dedicated to increasing the awareness of cases involving long-term missing and unidentified adults. Lusia will be delivering a talk on "The Power of Collaboration". Danny Vacar, Security Consultant at Security Compass, will deliver a talk on “Practical OSINT - a walkthrough of Common Tools".   About Trace Labs Trace Labs is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to accelerate the reunification of missing persons with their families while training members in the trade craft of open-source intelligence (OSINT). Together, Pride Toronto and Trace Labs will host a Missing Persons Capture-the-Flag: a collaborative, team-based hackathon combining friendly competition with a socially just cause. No experience is necessary: we invite all members of the community to join the cause, and learn about the latest open-source intelligence technologies along the way.
