Transgender Day of Remembrance 2019

In honour of TDOR, STERA welcomes the community to come together on November 20th, 2019 6:00pm – 9:00pm for an expressive, non-competitive open mic night to share poetry, stories of survival, art, song and performance. In all of the tragedies and remembrance, surrounding us daily, we must stand in solidarity with our resilient community and honour the folks we have lost. We understand this content can be triggering for some and caution folks to take the appropriate self-care measures when attending events of this nature. There will be fidgets and writing materials available for expression throughout the night and we encourage you to bring additional supplies.

This event is free; however, there will be an option to make a donation to STERA for future events and support of our lgbtqqip2sa+ community. This is a dry/sober event held at CASO station and is accessible with gender neutral restrooms. We request that we attempt to make this space scent reduced/scent free so more of our community can healthily join us. Also a smoke free/vape free event!
