Guelph Pride and Out on the Shelf are excited to be partnering with the incredibly talented folks of Guelph Spoken Word ("GSW") as they host...

the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word ("CFSW") for it's 15th Anniversary!

And we're so excited for Guelph to host some of the most talented poets from across turtle island. And we thought - since there will be so many incredible poets here, why not team up with GSW and create a space for all LGBT2QI+ folks, those visiting and those who call Guelph home, to share some of their stories.

Speaking our Truths is a long-standing Guelph Pride event, and over the years has seen such a huge array of speakers, stories, victories, triumphs, tragedies, heartbreak, and immense, overwhelming, and radiating love. We're so excited to be bringing it back, especially in partnership with an arts organization that has done so much for the LGBT2QI+ community of Guelph over the years.

So we invite you to come and share with us! Share part of your story, a specific lesson or learning, yearning or love, or anything in between. We ask that speakers limit their piece to between 5-7 minutes, but check with any of our hosts if you have concerns about this or you have a story that cannot be made any more succinct. We'd love to have you and we're excited about what you might have to say.

Our last open mic was such a heartwarming success, we're looking forward to bringing everyone together again for a cozy evening of storytelling, community connections, and knowing that your voice - your story - you - matter.

We'll have snacks and refreshments available, and lots of cozy seating for a night of storytelling and community vibes ~
